40 Years Of… is a participatory and collective way of celebrating the 40th anniversary of Bradford’s 1in12 Club in these socially distant, isolating times.

Each of the 1in12 Clubs founding principles; Mutual Aid, Cooperation and Solidarity are expressions of collectivism and its value to us all and this last year has made practising that collective spirit more difficult and sometimes impossible.

40 Years Of… is an opportunity to work together, wherever we live and however restricted our
movements, to create a collective and shared photographic and written history of the 1in12 Club in all its era’s. guises and manifestations.

40 Years Of… is an opportunity to share your individual memory, a night out, a great gig, organising a political action, a meal in the café, the beginning of friendships, discovering ideas, enjoying a pint of Sam Smiths, producing records and books, tours, punk all-dayers, raves, hardcore festivals, bookfairs, building the club, cleaning the club, record studio, creating a library, allotments, football, cricket, kid's club, creating a culture of…… mutual aid, cooperation and solidarity!

The 1 in 12 Club is a not for profit organisation relying heavily on the time donated by its unpaid members. The 1 in 12 Club is owned, managed & run by its members, founded on the anarchistic values of self-management, co-operation & mutual aid. Together we are a community of people aiming to provide an affordable, non-commercial venue for events, socialising, meetings & information.
